Notice Regarding Soon-To-Be Vacant Nash County Commissioner District 4 Seat


With her election to the NC House of Representatives, Lisa Barnes will need to resign her seat on the Nash County Board of Commissioners.  Ms. Barnes represents District 4 on the Board.


The Nash County Board of Commissioners will receive a recommendation to fill this vacancy from the Nash County Republican Party Executive Committee.


Candidates seeking the Executive Committee’s recommendation for the position must reside in Commissioner District 4 and be a registered Republican.


Candidates must submit a letter to the Committee containing a short biography of the candidate and any other information the candidate wants the Committee to know about his or her interest in filling the position.


Letters must be submitted to Committee by December 15, 2018.


Letters may be hand delivered either to the Nashville or Rocky Mount offices of the law firm of Fields & Cooper or mailed to Post Office Box 757, Nashville, NC 27856.


The Committee will interview all candidates on January 10, 2019, and will make its recommendation to the County Commissioners shortly thereafter.
